The Chair for Every Body
Designed to adjust to your body as if it were made for you.
Patented Technology
Each Path contains a patented Gravity MechanismTM that uses bodyweight rather than bulky controls. As you sit, the mechanism engages. When you recline, it gently lifts, so your body becomes the natural counterbalance, and is firmly supported wherever it stops. This creates virtual pivot points that allow Path to move with you in complete harmony.
FormSense Eco Knit
Equally as innovative as Path's design is its FormSense Eco KnitTM, a mesh-like textile made from upcycled plastic bottles that conforms to the body, providing self-adjusted lumbar support and a tailored fit to every user, regardless of height or weight.
A New Path Forward
Path represents a new generation of chairs, upcycling more plastic waste than any other chair in the industry. It's also our 26th climate positive product, giving back more to the planet than it takes each time it's made. No other company matches us in environmental stewardship. We have certifications across areas like: Healthy Materials, Material Transparency, Level® Certification and Sustainable Operations, to name a few.
The Design Story
Carefully considered.
Designed by Todd Bracher.
"Path is not simply an exercise in aesthetics or an assembly of pre-existing components, rather it is ground up mechanical invention, material innovation, coupled with next-level sustainability."

"A Chair for Your Desk That's Kind to the Earth."
"Might Be the Best Chair You Can Buy"
"Path adapts to both to conscious decisions to sit up or sit back while also capable of adapting to the numerous minute unconscious adjustments we make to our posture throughout the day."
"The Path task chair earns high marks for its minimal ecological impact. It's also just a comfortable chair, with Humanscale's ergonomic reclining mechanism on the back and a smoothly supportive cylinder beneath the seat."
Our Plan for the Planet
From supply chain through production and use, we are invested in environmental stewardship across the globe.
Planet Positive
Planet positive products go beyond neutrality, creating benefits in carbon, energy, and water around the world. Our mission is to leave the world better than we found it, better for you.
Healthy Materials
We evaluate and verify materials used in our products to ensure that they are healthy for people and planet.
Transparency
We publish our sustainability efforts, and have them verified by third party auditors, so our customers can make informed decisions.
Path is Planet Positive. Its materials are free of harmful chemicals, is made with post-consumer recycled content, and produced in TRUE Zero Waste facilities. Each Path chair produced leaves the world better off by positively impacting energy, water, and carbon in the environment.
6 kg CO2e
Climate Positive
Each Path chair has a net benefit of 6kg CO2 eq, or what a car emits over 15 miles. We sponsor handprinting projects that have carbon benefits, such as the installation of solar panels at nonprofits across the country.

15 Gallons
Water Positive
Each Path chair has a net benefit of 15 gallons of water. We sponsor handprinting projects that have water benefits, such as refurbishing wells in rural India to provide safe drinking water to vulnerable communities.

23 kWh
Energy Positive
Each Path chair has a net benefit of 23 kWh of energy. This amount could charge nearly 1,915 smartphones. We sponsor handprinting projects that have energy benefits, such as distributing energy efficient light bulbs to subsidized housing.

9.49lbs
Ocean Plastic
Each Path chair is made using a total of 9.49lbs of ocean plastic with 6.24lbs coming from upcycled fishing nets, the most harmful type of ocean plastic. The other 3.25lbs are made from recycled yogurt cups that are collected within 50km of coastlines, thus preventing potential damage to our oceans and their delicate ecosystems.

68
Plastic Water Bottles
Exclusively made for Path, our FormSense Eco KnitTM is a 3D knit textile. Its recycled yarn is made of approximately 68 plastic bottles per chair. The 3D knitting process that provides the double benefit of top level performance while also resulting in Zero Waste.

53%
Recycled Content
Comprised of ocean plastic, post-consumer plastic bottles, and post-industrial material, Path's recycled content makes up over half of its material composition and weight.

100%
Red List Free
Path is vetted for over 20 harmful chemical classes to ensure it is safe over the course of its life cycle. It is free of all chemicals on the Living Future Institute's Red List and has received a Declare Label by third party auditors, verifying all materials that go into the product.
